Once again. I was very proud of my Michigan Student section, at the Men's soccer game. That's right, I was the sole person dressed in NIU gear in the student's section. What can I say, I am a Huskie, and that loyalty was bought in blood, (and tuition.) It was good to see my two schools on the field, even though I have no clue as to the names of any of the Michigan players, and I only know two of the NIU player's names because the Michigan students decided to pick on a couple of them. Like I said, I was very proud. Anyway, the weather was great, with a few sprinkles. I am sorry to say that there were no lightning delays.

The biggest discussion of the game was between "The Mad Latvian Slammer" and me, about what kind of missed goal warrants a benching of a player. "The Mad Latvian Slammer" seems to beleive that any kick over the crossbar warrants a benching. I am a little more lenient of kicks going high, and a little less tolerant when the head strait for the goalie. To be honest, I take the hockey additude towards goals. Get it to the net and good things happen. In the second half Alton "The Wandering Canonical Helmsman" James Benjamin Luder III, joined us without adding anything to the debate.

While I definitely had a good time in the stands, and it was nice to get some celebratory Huskie love from NIU aimed specifically at me, I'm sorry to say that the action left a little to be desired. Soccer is usually quite fun, but something is missing. It could be a victory this season, or it could be that neither team appeared to be really pressing until Michigan was trying semi-desperately to tie up the game at end. Still I am happy to watch my Huskies earn a victory. However, it would be nice for my Wolverines to get a few themselves. Now I am a little torn. Do I not attend the rest of the soccer games because it is somewhat depressing to watch a team that doesn't win, (It would be like being a Cub's fan, which I am not) or do I stay with it just to show how dedicated of a fan I am? Personally, I think I will move on and see what happens. I can always come back.
I will pick this back up next week with Football against Notre Dame, Field Hockey and Men's golf.
